Mythical creature

Adult coloring mythical creature

A beautiful illustration today from the Russian edition coloring book called The Scythians (Скифы). This book is full of lovely patterns and mythical creatures. This one is one of my favorite. I colored it with markers and then used pencils over them to smooth streaks.

Hidden in the Jungle: chameleon, deer and wild cat

Hidden in the Jungle coloring book chameleon

Hello! Today three more finished pages from the Hidden in the Jungle book. To color the above chameleon illustration I used a whole bunch of medias: highlighters, markers, pencils and watercolor.

Hidden in the Jungle coloring book deer

The deer page I completely colored in with pencils. What I don't like in such type of books there is too much leaves and all that greenery on every page and I get bored to colored it all the time.

The wild cat page looks a bit messy. It is because I used watercolor for the background and I am not that good with handling it yet. Need to practice more with this media.
Well, that's all for today. Hope you're having a great day!
Happy coloring!

Beauty of Horror, new finished pages

Beauty of horror coloring book werewolf

Today two more completed pages from the Beauty of Horror coloring book: werewolf and beheaded guys. For the werewolf I used watercolor and pencils. Have to say that the book's paper is of very good quality, if not to use too much water it can stand watercolor all right, with just a little buckling.

The werewolf is not the most terrifying illustration in the book. I really enjoyed working on it. Can't say same thing about the next image....those cut off heads were not that much pleasure to color in. I have no idea how cut off heads supposed to look (thanks God) and this is my version...Anyway, one should not take such illustrations seriously

I used soft pastels for the background here and all the rest is colored with Derwent Inktense pencils.

Mandalas and patterns, mixed media colored pages

Mandalas colored with highlighters

Today a bunch of colored pages from the Relaxed and Focused Coloring book. I work on this book in the evenings, while sitting in front of TV. No much thinking, no much worrying - just indeed relaxed coloring. The first image is done completely with highlighters.

The Beauty of Horror coloring: Medusa Gorgon

The Beauty of Horror coloring book, Medusa Gorgon

I have started coloring a new book, the famous The Beauty of Horror by Alan Robert. Since I have seen a flip through of this book on YouTube I wanted it. I am not a big fan of horror genre, be it movies, literature or animation. But couldn't help but fall in love with the illustrations in this book. They are beautifully scary and frightfully beautiful. And this is the first image from the book that I colored.

The Beauty of Horror coloring book

The face of this lady, presumably Medusa Gorgon, is quite disgusting and all those snakes...yuck... but still I enjoyed coloring the illustration. What I used: Derwent Artist 72 colored pencils and Derwent Pastel pencils for the background. I know background is supposed to be colored firstly but it just doesn't work with me, background is the last thing that I color in.
Well, I hope you liked my Medusa Gorgon
Till the next time

Escape to Christmas Past coloring book finished pages, part2

Escape to Christmas past coloring book, feast finished page

Hello! Today I'm showing another bunch of finished pages from the Escape to Christmas Past coloring book by Good Wives and Warriors. But I think that would be it, done with this book for now. I used these illustrations to try different media, to experience with those I am not quite familiar with. The first page from the ones I am showing in this pose is done with watercolor pencils (Staedtler Luna 48 pieces). I still try to figure out how to work with this type of pencils and not always I am happy with the result.

There were some lines that led to nowhere and some shapes that I couldn't figure out what was that and so didn't know how to color that in. So, in the end I just colored those over.

These cakes were colored in with markers. They didn't blend that well, anyway I am quite satisfied with the overall result.

Fifty shades of green mandala

Adult coloring mandala in green

Today is another mandala from the Enchanted Dreams: A Meditative Art Therapy coloring book by Poppy Appleby. I called it "Fifty shades of green" mandala and you can guess why. I used markers and pencils in different shades of green to color it in.

Escape to Christmas Past finished pages

Adult coloring christmas cats

Hello and Happy New Year!
Today I finally can post winter themed pages that I recently finished. All they are from the Escape to Christmas Past coloring book and are done with watercolor markers, glittering gel pens and color pencils. Paper of this book is of a rather good quality so no bleeding through when using gel pens and markers. The page with kittens is one of my favorite in this book.
